About Us

Chamber Professionals of Ohio (CPO), formerly CCEO, is Ohio’s professional association dedicated to local chamber of commerce staff and executives. Established over 100 years ago and organized as a 501(c)(6), CPO provides its members with professional training & career development, industry specific resources, coaching and peer‑networking opportunities.  We believe that a strong chamber makes for a stronger community.

Matt Owen

Executive Director

Matt Owen serves as Executive Director of the Chamber Professionals of Ohio (CPO), where he leads statewide efforts to educate, connect, and empower chamber of commerce professionals. In this role, Matt is the driving force behind CPO’s training, professional development, and resource initiatives—supporting chamber executives, staff, and boards as they work to strengthen their organizations and the communities they serve.


A seasoned nonprofit executive, Matt brings more than 25 years of experience in business and economic development, organizational leadership, and program development. His career spans service with chambers of commerce at every level—large metropolitan, regional, and small community chambers—giving him a practical, well-rounded perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing today’s chambers.


Known for his collaborative leadership style and deep understanding of the chamber industry, Matt is passionate about helping chamber professionals grow as leaders, build strategic partnerships, and deliver meaningful impact for their members and local economies.
